On many 3300 Controllers Mitel use an E2T Debug (or TAPI) cable, these however can be more than a little difficult to get hold of!!

So, here's a solution - make your own!!

All you need is;

1/.     Two female DB9 Connectors

2/.     A printer cable for an Apple Laser Writer

        These cables use a male mini 8 pin din connector at each end

All you have to do is cut the cable in half and tone out the wires - you need to identify pins 3, 4 and 5

The connections are;

DB9 pin 2 connect to mini-din pin 5 (RXD)
DB9 pin 3 connect to mini-din pin 3 (TXD)
DB9 pin 5 connect to mini-din pin 4 (GND)

Now that you have two E2T cables all that remains to be done is to put one safely in your cable bag and sell the other to someone for more than you paid for the parts - then you can be both an engineer and a capitalist!!!
